December as Parangal sa Kalipi Month

The Embassy of the Philippines in Riyadh is pleased to inform all Filipino nationals who have adopted the citizenships of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen that Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, has proclaimed the month of December as “PARANGAL SA KALIPI” month.
This is an honor in recognizing all Kalipi (Filipinos who adopted citizenship of their country of residence) for their exemplary efforts in preserving and promoting Filipino culture and arts in Saudi Arabia and Yemen; for their continuous and unselfish contribution to the socio-economic development of the Philippines; and for their par excellence achievements in their own fields of expertise that bring honor to our country, the Philippines.
The Parangal sa Kalipi was established under Presidential Proclamation No. 1958 on 01 December 2009 to pave the way to encourage more Kalipi and the Filipino associations abroad to support and sustain existing Filipino community organizations worldwide and the creation of more Filipino associations with counterparts in the Philippines; to lead the way to a sustainable closer relationship between Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad in a way beneficial to both through dynamic business exchange and use of existing modern information technology; and to help boost the growth and development of foreign and domestic tourism and its related industries in the Philippines.
Moreover, it is believed that the unified and integrated national effort of both the government and the private sectors and Filipino migrants abroad will ensure the attainment of the objective of this Presidential Proclamation.
In this regard, the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh would like to invite all Kalipis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen to actively support and promote the objectives of the declaration of the “Parangal sa Kalipi” month. All Kalipi in the Kingdom and Yemen are therefore strongly encouraged to register their names and associations with the Embassy. END
