List of New Machine Readable Passport Holders Now Available on Embassy Website

PRESS RELEASE No.  APV-15-2009
03 March 2009

List of New Machine Readable Passport Holders Now Available on Embassy Website

The Embassy has started posting on its website the names of those who have been issued new Machine Readable Passports (MRP) as received from the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila.

Starting on February 21, passport applicants who filed a month earlier can check their names in the list of MRPs received by the Embassy through diplomatic pouch usually every Saturday.

Under the MRP procedures, applications in Computer Generated Forms bearing the applicants’ signatures and thumb marks will be bundled and sent in batches to Manila.

It takes around thirty calendar days or one month for the MRPs to be personalized or printed at the PICC and sent back to the Embassy.

Those who applied for MRP during the “Embassy on Wheels” in Al-Khobar on 29-30 January can visit the Embassy website, www.philembassy-riyadh.org and see if their names are already included.

Those who wish to claim their passports can come to the Embassy during working hours or go to the next EOW in Jubail on 12-13 March 2009 or wait for the EOW in Al-Khobar.

Old passports, receipts or validated invoices, and signed authorization letter (for those who cannot personally receive their passports) are required for the releasing of the new MRPs.

Aside from expanding the coverage of the “Embassy on Wheels,” the Embassy under the direction of Ambassador Antonio P. Villamor never stops to find ways to make its services more accessible and beneficial to the overall welfare of Filipino nationals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. END
