EOW Returns to Jubail

PRESS RELEASE No.  APV- 09 -2009
24 February 2009

EOW Returns to Jubail

The “Embassy on Wheels” will be held once again in Jubail next month with the following schedule:

Date                                       Time                                          Applications
Thursday, Mar. 12     :           9:00 AM to 5:00 PM             :           300
Friday, Mar. 13          :           8:00 AM to 12:00 PM           :           200

The venue of the EOW service will be at the STC Beach Camp, as shown in the location map attached for reference.

In August last year, the EOW team processed 396 passport applications and, based on the information provided by the Filipino Community in Jubail, the number is expected to increase and reach 500 for the upcoming second visit.

The Embassy is hopeful that it will be able to serve all the expected applicants without having any backlog as what usually happens during its monthly service in Al-Khobar.

For those who applied in Al-Khobar in January and could not receive their Machine Readable Passports if they are not yet available for release during the EOW service there on February 26-27 may opt to claim their MRPs in Jubail.

The Embassy would also like to reiterate the official advisory of the Department of Foreign Affairs that the green passport remains valid up to the date of its stated date of expiry.

Jubail, which is more than 500 km. away from Riyadh, is home to the largest industrial city in the region and large companies employing thousands of Filipino workers. END
