2008 ASEAN Women's Circle (AWC) Annual Bazaar

The ASEAN Women’s Circle (AWC) in Riyadh will hold its annual ASEAN Food and Crafts Fair on 30 October 2008, Thursday at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the grounds of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam located at 39 Al Fujairah Street, Al Waroud area, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The bazaar is the highlight of the many activities co-sponsored by the ASEAN members of the AWC that have resident missions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These embassies are Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. This year’s host of the AWC bazaar is the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam.
A cultural programme featuring traditional songs, folklore and national costumes of the participating countries; food stalls with a wide variety of ASEAN recipes to satisfy one’s palate; and booths with handicrafts of organic and natural materials crafted with the unique blend of ASEAN artistry and creativity will ensure the public of a day of fun, food and friendship. In addition, Japan and Myanmar will also be participating as guest countries in the AWC bazaar.
Raffle tickets sold at 5 Saudi riyals each will also serve as admission tickets. It can be purchased in advance at the Embassy of Brunei by calling telephone no. 456-0814 or at the gate on the day of the event itself. Children twelve (12) years old and below may be admitted free.
